Tiger reinstates service to Melbourne

A few days after the recent post on the airline flights boost Tiger have announced thay will reinstate a daily service on the Cairns - Melbourne route from April 25.

Cairns Airport CEO Kevin Brown said Tiger’s new day services were excellent news for the regional economy. "A daily domestic service calculated on average will provide an additional $75 million per annum in gross regional product and generate an additional 843 new jobs in the region," he said.

"That Tiger will again operate services into Cairns on what has been voted Australia’s fastest growing route, just ahead of our peak season, is welcome news."

Must try and get that recent report from Bill Cummings on Cairns Airport as it certainly does sound like impressive  job creation!

The previous budget Tiger service was also well used by Cairns locals for short breaks in Melbourne.
